In The Comic Commit, I said that my deep soulful desire to explore my Love for cartooning was not born of seeking new revenue streams, but seeking “a stream of conscious and unconscious Creativity“.

As I walk the bridge of transition into Next Chapter, Creativity is core. I am exploring it in the curious conversations I am blessed to be having more and more. I am exploring it in diving ever deeper into community building. I am exploring it in creating my Daily Vision of Practice.

Creativity is not simply about traditionally recognized forms of art. It is about exploring and generating ideas. We need such in all arenas of human endeavour, now and forward. That said, I posted this just last night.

“This evening begins the Month of Mulk (Dominion) in the Baha’i Calendar. So I have two birthdates… February 20 and Mulk 14. That said, and for different reasons, tomorrow is a singularly special Day… honoring a treasured Friendship. And February has many special Days… 2, 6, 7, 14, 20 and 24-28… with times of Gifts for many. Including Ayyam-i-Ha. THAT said… today I made 2 promises that are a Gift back to me… Gifts of new and returned behaviour that will carry me well. Gifts in Commitments around Health. Simple promises made but significant impact from both. Why do I share? In these times of change, challenge and uncertainty… my Baha’i Faith and Stoic studentry tell me that we meet Life at Life’s speed. We each can only meet Life each Day. One Day at a precious Time. One bold step at a Time. Tonight, we ate at Taste of Mediterranean and it was wonderful… food and Service. A beautiful way to Honor the Month of Mulk. We have Dominion over our own lives only… how we show up… but that is powerful. “When the swords flash, go forward. When the shafts fly, press onwards.” Insh’allah.”

Creativity is a one moment, one day at a time thing. We create in the now. As I get halfway through my current teaching contract and look forward to ever walking into Next Chapter, I am reminded that Creativity matters in teaching and learning, in living and leading and loving and more. It is imagination in purposeful, playful practice.

My point? Simply this. Seneca said… “As each day arises, welcome it as the very best day of all, and make it your own possession. We must seize what flees.” In this world of change and challenge, our Creativity ever increasingly matters. We can list all the problems or we can help create solutions. I am going with the latter. Each day, may we explore to create.

Insha’llah.
