Leader ToC with Ray Hollister

This month, with our second in the series of Leader ToC™ Blog Posts for 2017, we interview the stupendous Ray Hollister.  Another longtime colleague and friend, I first experienced Ray at a CAPS Convention in Toronto back in 2010.  His talk was mesmerizing.  I knew, one day, that I would want to interview the man because Leader ToC™ is all about that kind of heroic leadership.

Leader ToC™ (Thoughts on Character) is our monthly series engaging leaders around the world on character, leadership and more.

Before we truly get started this month, here is last month’s edition with Stephanie Staples and a compilation of the first six in the series from 2016.  Enjoy.

Now…

INTRODUCING RAY HOLLISTER

We are humbly proud to say Ray is a contributing member of The CAST™.  Here is just a little of what we have come to know of Ray.

rayRAY HOLLISTER is all about strength, excellence and potential. In fact, he has a very special connection with students – he’s helped thousands achieve average scores of over 90% for 20 years! His love of learning… and his ability to teach anybody the same easy strategies he used to study far less than everyone else while maintaining outrageously high test scores… quickly earned him a lot of ‘friends’ seeking his advice. Ray has personally conducted numerous studies to develop an intense, focused, and  results oriented program for college students. With the success of that program, Ray set his sights on helping younger students in Junior High, High School, and those just entering University. The end result is a program that will help any student – especially YOU – learn more, study less, and earn consistently high grades.

Ray is Stupendous Man.  So, let’s get at it to …

Engage the Leader ToC™

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

Hey Ray.  🙂  I am so glad you could take the time to connect on Leader ToC™.  I have been wanting to do this for a while.  So, let’s just get at it.  The first question I typically ask is “Who are you and what is it you do?”

RAY HOLLISTER

My pleasure Barry.  Well, my name is Ray Hollister and I share with others how to develop, cultivate, and utilize resilience in their lives.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

That is so powerfully succinct and says a lot.  So, with that in mind, for whom do you do it best?  In other words… Ray, who is your best audience?

RAY HOLLISTER

Well, my best audiences are actually comprised of two groups.  First, I serve students (of any age!) who desire and are committed to getting GREAT grades and averaging over 90% on any exam.  Second, I serve people who are facing traumatic/dramatic events in their lives and are looking for help, understanding, or simply ideas to apply to their life.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

I have certainly experienced your impact myself.  It still resonates these 7 years later.  Well then, how is it you best serve them?  How do you offer your services?

RAY HOLLISTER

Well, first… for students… (again, of any age), I offer live events (seminars), webinars, and online courses. My website, www.truestudyskills.com, contains links to upcoming webinars and will also be the portal for my online courses as they roll out.  Secondly, for people who are dealing with traumatic events in their lives, I offer both live events in seminar format, as well as individual consultation for those who desire privacy or prefer one-on-one counseling.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

I like the balance.  So Ray, with all that you do and serve in mind… in these times, what are the challenges and opportunities of leadership, from your perspective and experience?

RAY HOLLISTER

Great question.  The major challenges of leadership from my perspective in these times is understanding the value of strong mentorship. After all, a mentor is indeed a leader… and understanding the value of following well, leads to leading well. The biggest opportunity I see for leadership in these times is expanding and exploring the value of servant leadership. In these times, learning to serve your community is the glue that will hold everything together.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

As an educator and community guy, I could not agree more.  That being said, and given our own work around character and leadership… when reflecting on the strengths of leadership, what virtues do you consider to be paramount as strengths of character and why do you believe them vital?

RAY HOLLISTER

At the risk of sounding self-serving, I believe that Resilience and Reflection are paramount to strong leadership. Our ability to rebound from tough times and unforeseen events are seen and viewed by everyone around us. Whether or not you believe you are a leader, people WILL see how you respond to tough situations. Reflection upon what you’ve learned through the tough times – and how to implement what you learned – is also a key element of leadership. I believe both these traits are vital and truly shape the strength and effectiveness of leadership skills in any individual.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

I love it.  It speaks to me of resilience, mindfulness, discernment, and more.  I like the take you have on it.  So, what is one piece of advice you might have for our readership on developing leadership and strength of character in these times?

RAY HOLLISTER

I think one fantastic piece of advice is also one that causes people the biggest challenge; “Act and speak at all times as if your mother was right behind you.” There are so many actions taken and words spoken that we would most certainly have avoided if our mothers had been with us at the moment! Though the thought of this may bring a smile to your face, it may also cause you to cringe – may I suggest that if it causes you to cringe, you should reflect on your current ‘path’ of leadership behavior.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

That metaphor is strong.  I heard it said, be the person your dog already believes you to be.  In many ways, it is about thinking upon your hero and asking what would they do or expect.  So, we are almost done (for now).  How can someone connect with you for more information on your work?

RAY HOLLISTER

There is my website.  I am also on Facebook (a simple search for Ray Hollister will bring me up), I am on twitter -@ray_hollister, and my email address is hollister.ray@gmail.com. Lastly, I happily accept phone calls/texts to 210-692-4141.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

Ray, I admire your approach to life and leadership.  It has been a pleasure to connect with you on these questions and answers with Leader ToC™.  Thank you so much.

RAY HOLLISTER

I have enjoyed it my friend.  Truly.

The Virtues of Great Leadership

As we proceed through February and into March, with review, reflection and re-engineering strategically happening, one thing remains the same.  We are all about character and its integral role in heroic leadership; the kind of leadership that makes a difference at home, school, work, business and community.

We speak to it.  We educate, train and facilitate around it.  We coach it.  We sing, write, cartoon, dance, game and create with it.  We see character as the best path to advancing strong, united and resourceful cultures that are characterized by what we call joyful excellence.

With that in mind, I and we personally offer this playlist of short, fun and (we think) engaging videos around virtues and their practical application to life, learning and leadership.  These videos are raw and real and can serve as discussion pieces in class and the workplace…. or community.  Indeed, you can even subscribe to our You Tube channel which is infused with message and music that speaks to character and unity.  More to come. 🙂

Peace, passion and prosperity.

Your “Happy Pig” Finds You

Earlier this week, we posted on LinkedIn… an article on heroic character leadership and introducing an exploration of a process we call L.O.V.E.™.  We invite you to have a read, first.

Now, and before we explore L.O.V.E.™ in the coming weeks, you can choose to take this video in … from AFTER SCHOOL on Facebook Live.  It will take you 53 minutes and some change but it will spur some thoughts on Purposefulness and Responsibility, as strengths of character.  Whether you do or do not, we invite you to consider Purposefulness as the path to happiness.  The pursuit of happiness is not unlike chasing a greased pig.  We may have moments but it so often alludes us.  If we but choose to pursue Purposefulness, the “happy pig” shows up for us.

Purposefulness can be defined as unwavering firmness of character, action, or will… having absolute intention and commitment.  Purposefulness drives heroic character leadership…  that manifestation of leadership, at life and work, that is the practical application and practice of principles and ideals born of and lifted by virtues as strengths of character.   Purposefulness is the foundation of grace and strength through trials and triumphs and it inspires others to find their own model of same.

If you watch the video (and we suggest you do) or not… what is your Purposefulness saying to you… at school, work, business or community?  As Lawrence Pearsall Jacks wrote…

“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.”

Therein lies purposefulness.  How about for you?  In the coming weeks we will explore L.O.V.E.™ as a path of Purposefulness, foundational for leadership at home, school, work, business and community.

Sure hope you join us.

Peace, passion and prosperity.

Leader ToC with Stephanie Staples

This month, with our first in the series of Leader ToC™ Blog Posts for 2017, we interview the fabulous Stephanie Staples of Your Life Unlimited.   A longtime colleague and friend in CAPS, Stephanie is all about “helping busy professionals bring their “A” game to work and life”.  And Leader ToC™ loves that.

Leader ToC™ (Thoughts on Character) is our monthly series engaging leaders around the world on character, leadership and more.  Before we get started this month, here is a compilation of the first six in the series from 2016.  Enjoy.

INTRODUCING STEPHANIE STAPLES

Excerpted from her own site, here is a little on Stephanie.

Stephanie Staples is a recovering burn-out nurse and a serial entrepreneur. She has founded three businesses (two successful – one a nightmare, you can’t win them all!) and is the 2014 Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Contribution to Community award winner. This award is especially meaningful to her as giving back to the community locally and globally is equally important as building a successful business.  She is the author of two books (soon to be 3), When Enlightening Strikes: Creating a Mindset of Uncommon Success and Your Life, Unlimited: A Guided Journal and a regular expert columnist for both print and online periodicals including nursetogether.com.  She has also produced two CD’s (don’t worry, she’s not singing!) – The Well-Nurse Initiative: Burnout Prevention that Works and Bring Your ‘A’ Game to Work & Life  and a mobile app. called Life Support for Nurses.  Oh and did you know she is also a … take a big breath it’s a long title …  ‘Specialized psycho-social employee-wellness & workplace-health services consultant’ for Health Canada, yeah, she’s not quite sure what that is either?!  Her kids just think she’s ‘pyscho’ period.  As a consultant, she works with hospitals, working with everyone from front line staff to physicians to the CEO’s, to help them grow themselves strong and serve their patients and colleagues with excellence.

Steph does great work, so let’s get at it to …

Engage the Leader ToC™

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

Hi Steph (I keep wanting to say Stephanie, what is up with that?).  So glad you could come on board for Leader ToC™.  Let’s start with the most fundamental of questions… for those who do not know what you do.  Just what is it that you do?

STEPHANIE STAPLES

I know right.  🙂  Great to do this Barry.  To get right down to it… I work with busy professionals who want to bring their ‘A’ game to work and life!

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

I love that… it is crisp and resonant for me.  It speaks to what I call joyful excellence.  With that in mind… in doing so, who do you best serve?

STEPHANIE STAPLES

I best serve those in helping, care giving or social service type professions. Those folks are my sweet spot, having said that I have worked with groups from The Royal Canadian Mint to Mercedes Benz.  Basically, if you have room for improvement in your life, are still breathing and have a desire to change, I have tools to help.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

Indeed.  I appreciate both the clear focus and the reach that you have.  So, what are your thoughts on what makes for great leadership?

STEPHANIE STAPLES

I believe great leadership starts with self-leadership. Lead yourself well; others will follow.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

Absolutely; it is foundational.  Personal responsibility and accountability are virtues of character that are powerful in setting example.  So, what is one challenge you feel requires engaging leadership at this time?

STEPHANIE STAPLES

Great question.  I actually feel like we need to take a more pro-active role in our lives as leaders at home. I believe many professionals are already doing a great job at work, and many are at the top of their game.  Most handle issues, problems, and challenges competently. When these same capable people go home they have relationships that are suffering, children that are disengaged and an overall lack of purpose, direction and focus for their home life. (Yes, I’m generalizing here.)

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

Generalizing but accurate, I would think.  And what do you see as the return on investment in facing that challenge, for you?

STEPHANIE STAPLES

When I work with leaders who make small changes and see big rewards personally and professionally by putting the plan we created together, this is a huge win! Sometimes it is something as simple as not bringing their cell to the dinner table that starts the ripple change because it’s not about the exact little thing that we change, it’s about the concept around it – the bigger message and when people get that… that’s ROI for me!

BARRY LEWIS GREEN

I love the emphasis on the fundamentals; and excellence in practicing them.  Incremental is powerful.  I think your notion of simplicity is practical and impactful (is that a word? It is now. lol).  Steph, I want to thank you for the opportunity to explore some thoughts on leadership with you.  I also want to encourage our readers to connect with you.  It has been a joy.

STEPHANIE STAPLES

I enjoyed doing it Barry. Thanks for the opportunity to connect.

A Recipe for Heroism

On Monday, we posted on The Heroic Now.  Even now, I invite you to have a first read or a review if you have already done so.  Merriam-Webster Dictionary offers:

Definition of heroism

heroic conduct especially as exhibited in fulfilling a high purpose or attaining a noble end… the qualities of a hero

We consider heroism to be a prime ingredient in what we call the epic leader… front line or top line or anywhere in between.  It is not a title but an identity and role.  With marches planned and causes and actions, local and global, being lead and fulfilled… it might be a valuable exercise to identify the recipe heroism.  If we value heroism, maybe it is timely to identify its strengths of character.  Trait Theories on Leadership say that people identify leaders by the qualities that they think leaders should have and then see, around them, who might possess those qualities.  Heroism can be examined in the same way.  We identify heroes, consciously or unconsciously, by the traits we believe a hero possesses and then see who possesses them.

Take some time to consider the strengths of character that make for the heroic.  Examine the poster in that aforementioned and earlier post on LinkedIn.  Make a list of the qualities (virtues) that you believe are integral to heroism.  Upon doing so, you are now more mindful and aware of your own perceptions of heroism… and can indeed better encourage them in yourself and others.  It enables and empowers the growth of heroism in our classrooms, companies and communities.  The world, locally and globally, needs more of it.

Next up, we will look at some simple strategies around possibly encouraging it.

Peace, passion and prosperity.

Emphasize the Empathize

Let us connect.  Let us explore the power of Empathy in connecting.  To start, I invite you to read this LinkedIn article on Empathetic Leadership.  Review and reflect upon it, muriel4if you care and/or dare.  Then, following on that, have a view and listen to:

YOUR TURN

What do you think?  How might these speak to the power and importance of empathy for living, learning and leading?  What are some ideas you might take away in practice to strengthen empathy at home, school, work, business or community?  How might it impact your engagement in interpersonal dialogue and on social media?  What might be the impact of listening with empathy on collaboration and constructive problem solving?  How might you foster conversations in your life that encourage its practice?

THOUGHTS on ROI

What is the Return on Investment of Empathy?  Bottom line, this Virtue has the power to positively impact listening and learning because we are more open.  It can foster greater dialogue and discernment and wisdom.  It can engage for higher quality interaction and ideas.  It can build bridges and even impact buy in.  It can advance synergy and collective strength, unity, resourcefulness and excellence.

Get clear on the ROI for you in the classroom, company or community in which you spend your time.  Then, borrow the ideas from this collective classroom of posts and videos to help forge cultures of empathetic listening, learning and leadership.

The world and our corners of it are demanding that we emphasize the empathize.

Peace, passion and prosperity.

We wholeheartedly encourage you to connect with these experts on their respective expertise and how it might be of service to you.  They each bring great value in service to their work.  With that in mind, we wish you a Happy New Year and offer that the question for the month is:

What is one piece of advice you have regarding setting and achieving goals for 2017?

FIRST OFF, we humbly, proudly and excitedly introduce our newest member of The CAST™…

CHRIS SPURVEY SAYS…

I work very hard over the Christmas break to take the lid off my subconscious mind. I try to look at what I would like to achieve in 2017 through a fresh lens and not hold myself back based on past achievements. I will write out a list of 30 things I would like to achieve (Be, Do, Have). This is a lot harder than it seems. But, once I have the 30, I then categorize them into three buckets… A, B and C … based on their importance to me. I force myself to put 10 in each bucket. Once I have the three buckets I take each and I rank them 1-10. The #1 goal in bucket A becomes my #1 goal for the year. I reflect on that #1 goal to ensure I feel the energy from it.  I make very sure it lines up with my purpose. I then go to work on writing a vision for the achievement of the goal.  A vision is me in the present tense already in possession of the goal. I carry around that vision in my pocket and reflect on it as often as possible. I fall in love with the goal and force myself to act as though I already have it. What I have personally found is most other goals on the list happen as a result of focusing on the #1.  I hope this helps.   If you like, you can contact me for a series of worksheets designed to help with this process.

RAY HOLLISTER SAYS…

What is one piece of advice I have regarding setting and achieving goals for 2017? My advice for setting and achieving goals is simply stated with this mantra: Dream Macro, Plan Micro. This very simple mantra has helped me immensely and will be the guiding force for me again this year. This means that my Goals (Dreams) will be big, sweeping, and inspiring. My actions will be small, specific, and purposeful. My analogy for this is inspired by my Sister-In-Law who has been running marathons for years and just recently completed a 50 MILE ‘Fun Run’; when you start your marathon (Goal), know where the finish line is. Then take your first step and begin (action)! One particular resolution that seems to be very popular this year coming year is Simplify. May I suggest, if this will be one of your resolutions, that you use the very simple mantra Dream Macro, Plan Micro to set and achieve your goals this year.

JAMIE McCABE SAYS…

One piece of advice for setting and achieving goals would be to, first of all, take time to reflect on all of your past goals and accomplishments from the previous year. I enjoy doing this as we can often be most hard on ourselves and I always find, in taking this time to look back, that I have accomplished WAY more than I give myself credit for. This gets me excited about the year to come and puts me in the state of mind of doing and achieving. Take some time to set out your goals and intentions for your New Year. I love to use a goal setting calendar to help me with all of my ideas. There is something about a pen and paper that gets me most excited about setting goals. Be sure to set different goals both personal and professional, always celebrate your victories, big or small… either way they are a win… and always be kind to yourself.

MARK BLACK SAYS….

After you brainstorm a list of goals, go back through them and ask yourself one question: why? Why do you want to achieve that goal? If you have an immediate answer, it’s a good goal. If you can’t come up with an answer, leave it off of your list.

SHEENA GROBB SAYS….

When it comes to setting goals for 2017, I suggest carving out some personal time where you can detach from the business of life, put down your phone and clear your schedule… and allow your highest intentions for the year ahead to speak through your vision.  Write some pages in your journal about how you want to feel when you achieve your goals, and what it will look like when you do.  Give yourself a chance to visualize achieving your goals even before you set out to do the work.  It will help you stay focused and aligned with your intentions.  Once you’re clear on your goals, the key to actualizing them is breaking them down into small, manageable steps that you can check off when accomplished.  This will help you keep track of your progress… and it makes for an easy recovery if you ever temporarily lose connection with your intentions.

Sheena Grobb Singer/Songwriter and Speaker… is humbly amazing. “It is without a doubt a masterpiece of songwriting and soundscape. Really incredible, soulful music. She will definitely get a huge audience in time, trust me.” Alex Wharton, Abbey Road Studios. A songbird from the age of two, songwriter at ten, with 3 albums under her belt, a nomination for the Western Canadian Music Awards, Sheenaand over 500 tour dates across Canada, the US, and the UK, Sheena Grobb (one of Canada’s best kept secrets) is spilling over. With the release of her newest album, The Breakless Heart, mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, and a life changing music video created by Lindsey Nelko (past choreographer with So You Think You Can Dance), Sheena is embarking on her most meaningful project yet – The Living Compassion Project™ – inviting others to “unlock their lives” through sharing their stories… as she begins to share hers. www.sheenagrobb.com

TRENT LANGDON SAYS…

When working with students and adults, an effective strategy for goal-setting is the identification of individual support systems and resources. Doing an inventory of your personal ‘safety net’ can be quite an empowering exercise for many reasons: it increases thoughts of positivity, gives you opportunities that you may not have otherwise considered, helps you to identify those individuals that may not be supportive of your ventures, and provides quick contacts for you when you may need them most.  A subsequent exercise is to connect with these identified human resources once you have made ‘your list’, inform them of your goals, and request their assistance (or potential interventions if needed). Having ‘morale boosters’, ‘a cheering section’, or a ‘listening ear’ can do wonders in successfully attaining your goals.  Best of luck and ‘chin up’ in 2017…

MAJEED MOGHARREBAN SAYS…

When setting a goal, start with the words “I will” and end with the words “no matter what!”.  Then, once the goal is set, focus on the ACTIVITY, not the goal. For example, if the goal is to make $100,000, the activity might be to make 3 phone calls every day. If the goal is to write a book, the activity might be to write 1000 words per day. Focus on the activity so that achieving the goal is inevitable.   To expand on this… choose one goal and really dig into it. Get ultra clear on that one goal. Get clear on why you have set that goal. Turn that goal into a commitment by starting with the words “I will…” and ending with the words “…no matter what.” For example, instead of saying “My goal is to write a book in 2017”, make your goal be “I will write a 25,000 word book about youth entrepreneurship training in high schools, completing my first draft by May 2017 and having a published, printed book in my hand by November 2017, no matter what.” Be specific. Be committed. And get started today!

The Gift of Goals

Achieving a truly desired goal is a gift to ourselves.  With that in mind and heart, last week we explored Dignity and Focus.  Then, earlier this week, we explored getting GREAT Things done.  Finally, tonight… Singwe ran a video that expanded on setting GREAT Goals, including time frames and structures.  All of this is to offer up thoughts around the importance of Simplicity in achieving goals.

Achieving goals is a process.  It is a process that I am undertaking over these next couple of weeks, following exams and leading into 2017.  I will be, with Simplicity at core, sharpening the strategic focus for 2017… both in terms of goals and time frames.

There are some great resources around Simplicity including:

Simplicity sharpens focus and focus achieves results.  Setting GREAT Goals™ provides a vehicle for Simplicity.  We are on that journey.  We invite you to do the same… as a gift to yourself.

Peace, passion and prosperity.

broadCAST December 2016: Wishing You

The broadCAST™ is a monthly weigh in by members of The CAST™ of Epic Engage™.  Independent experts in their own right, members of The CAST™  are asked to answer a question of simple but rock-the-message-003possibly profound nature. We wholeheartedly encourage you to connect with these experts on their respective expertise and how it might be of service to you.  They each bring great value in service to their work.  With that in mind, the question for the month is:

“In the spirit of the Season however it is celebrated amongst the diversity of faiths and beliefs, what is your one wish for our readers this month?”

RAY HOLLISTER SAYS…

My wish for you this Season is Clarity. Clarity of purpose, clarity of thought, clarity of action, and clarity of faith.  YOU are remarkable, talented, magnificent, and loved. May your heart come to know this with certainty – and absolute Clarity. There is both power and peace in gaining – and pursuing – Clarity in your life. I wish for you this Season the gift of Clarity.

Ray Hollister is all about strength, excellence and potential. In fact, he has a very special connection raywith students – he’s helped thousands achieve average scores of over 90% for 20 years! The end result is a program that will help any student – especially YOU – learn more, study less, and earn consistently high grades.  www.rayhollister.net

JAMIE McCABE SAYS…

My one wish for readers this month is that they value relationships that they have. Be grateful for the moments you get to experience, good or bad … as there is always a bigger lesson to take away. Wear your heart on your sleeve and hug lots. My wish for you is an abundance of “LOVE” and a new year filled with “MOMENTS” that leave you looking around every corner for the next one to arrive. JM2

She works with children and schools where she provides after school art programs. She believes we should color outside the lines more and embrace our inner artist. At Clay Café, it’s not about painting the perfect piece, it’s about painting the perfect memory.  www.claycafeavalon.ca

JOEL SWEENEY SAYS….

My one wish is that you get to experience the magic of this time of year. It is a time to dismiss our setbacks and celebrate our successes. It is an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends.
This is a time for rejuvenation. A chance to recharge and get ready to take on the challenges of the New Year.  Take advantage of the opportunity.  Celebrate and be grateful for the blessings you have. Yes, you have them. We all do. Some are not as obvious as others. Take time to reflect on the ones that are uniquely yours.   I met with a colleague earlier this week and his upbeat demeanor and attitude were contagious, yet he is going through one of the more trying times in his life. He has made a Joel-Sweeney-291x300conscious decision to put his best foot forward. Almost every statement rang of gratitude. When I reflected on our conversation I realized that I have so much to be grateful for. Don’t lose sight of your blessings.  Don’t miss the chance to reap all that this time of year has to offer.  May this be your most enjoyable and satisfying holiday season ever!

He is the owner of Professionally Speaking (established in 1995). Joel helps entrepreneurs and business professional become effective, engaging and confident speakers. www.JoelSweeney.com

MARK BLACK SAYS….

My one wish for you is peace. Not world peace, that would be nice, but we can’t achieve that on our own. Not peace in your home, because while you contribute to it, you cannot guarantee that either. I simply wish you peace in your heart, mind and soul. That is up to you. And if you can find it, everything else is easily managed.

SHEENA GROBB SAYS….

One wish I have for our readers this month is that pause be taken to enjoy the simplest aspects of this time of year… that the full experience of our senses be explored and awakened.  The feeling of the crisp winter air as it hits our nostrils each morning… the taste of our favourite holiday recipe fresh from the oven… the twinkling of the lights that decorate all the houses along our street.  For many of us this is a time of reflection and gratitude… of giving and sharing… and also of moving faster and organizing this or that.  Regardless of what you’re doing, make it a full experience of your senses… be fully present for every moment of the richness. This is where true fulfillment resides…. so just breathe it in.

A simple wish for the season and into the new year is ‘to be present’. This is an ongoing focus of mine that has served me well during times of heightened stress and busy schedules. To remind yourself that at any point, your daily activities and duties make up the journey that is your life and should be embraced with acceptance and passion. Through this approach, your experience will be enriched, your regrets Trent for Siteminimized, and your memories preserved.

MAJEED MOGHARREBAN SAYS…

In the spirit of the holiday season, and the end of the US political race, now is more important than ever to be a beacon of love, light, hope and positivity. Be loud about your love. Be a source of good news. Stand up for love. Not just thoughts, but actions, to show your love.

BARRY LEWIS GREEN SAYS…

My wish is always peace, passion and prosperity.  Always.  All ways.  That being said, of late, I have been on an exploration of openness as a strength of character.  It has been manifested in a series of blogs over the past two weeks… a 3D December Dare … and culminated in a constructive challenge tonight around courage, confidence and certitude.  Indeed, this is all to say that my ultimate wish for you at this time of year is that you be open… to who you are at your best and to the world and what it is at its best.  Heed the words of Satchmo.  Life is life.  Live it.  There you will find real magic.Educator
