In Set Sail back in October, I noted the importance of action after planning. In teaching Strategic Management for years, I am fully aware that the 4 steps of same are Analyze, Formulate, Implement and Evaluate.
To strategically walk forward, we best analyze our situation and the environment in which we find ourselves. Then, based on such diligent analysis, we formulate a strategy… our goal oriented plans and actions. Then, we act on that plan, staying true to it… we take action in alignment with the plan… and we evaluate on results. 6 Weeks into my own plan and I am evaluating on my actions and results.
Contract Training and Teaching is underway and rolling, meeting milestones; full steam ahead. GREENink is established. TUGtv has hit some production snags but is being addressed. The shows are being recorded but editing and production has hit some snags, now being addressed, as noted. My new book is delayed a bit, with an outline to be developed in the second half of November but a blog focused on some key content around Character and Temperament has just been written. My Baha’i Practice is moving forward, as is my Stoic Study. Friendships are getting their attention. Boxing and Workouts are “OK” but need heightened focus and attention.
That said, I estimate that (on the professional side) I am 2/3 successful on actions, and needing to continue the roll with Contract Training and Teaching as well as development of GREENink. I need to carry forward with addressing TUGtv production, addressing same in November. And, I need to reallocate time for dedicated work on the book.
On the personal side, I am 90% there, needing to continue on all fronts as I have been… with additional attention needed on Boxing and Workouts.
None of this is about blame nor shame. It is about personal Accountability. Actually, it is about:
All said, I am reminded that analyzing, formulating, implementing and evaluating require these Virtues; these Strengths of Character. In that… we get to practice an A+ Mindset. This is The Way.
