In The Other Side last month, I noted “My full on intent is to NOT blog here through June but to see me and you on “the other side”. My intent is to thoroughly engage and enjoy this journey, and to celebrate on July 1 (Canada Day)… the achievement and step in this life long journey. The other side is about where we soulfully seek to BE. The other side, for me, is not about wishing time away, but enjoying the journey getting to the other side. See you on the other side.”

Well there is another side now… on the other side of July and August, while I am on College Break. In A PEACE of WORK, I stated that  “as a first for me since starting teaching some 28 years ago, July and August will not simply be a switching of gears from teaching to enterprise. It will be, and going forward, a time of Openness. Two months of each year as my own reset for the academic and entrepreneurial years ahead. It will be a time of re-creation.”

First, I recommend A PEACE of WORK, Summer 2022. There is much coolness in there. Second, here weekly, I will share learnings as I take this time.

For now, I am reminded of these words of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, “It is an axiomatic fact that while you meditate you are speaking with your own spirit. In that state of mind you put certain questions to your spirit and the spirit answers: the light breaks forth and the reality is revealed.”

He also stated that “So long as the thoughts of an individual are scattered he will achieve no results, but if his thinking be concentrated on a single point wonderful will be the fruits thereof. …once the sun shineth upon a concave mirror, or on a lens that is convex, all its heat will be concentrated on a single point, and that one point will burn the hottest. Thus is it necessary to focus one’s thinking on a single point so that it will become an effective force.”

And he noted that “Through the meditative faculty inventions are made possible, colossal undertakings are carried out; through it governments can run smoothly.”

With all of that in mind and heart, my two months will be focused on healthy habits and being open to the focus, presence and power of meditation… seeing where that takes me. Another side awaits, 8 weeks away. I am going to swing for the fences, lol. And it will reveal.

Wishing you PEACE

People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built. ― Eleanor Roosevelt
