In 4 Points of Crossroads, way back on March 29, I finished with “At any crossroads, we can go back… or we can identify our Keepers, Leapers and Deepers… and choose our new path accordingly. 4 points of crossroads. Best to consult with oneself and our trusted circles, and decide upon those Keepers, Leapers and Deepers.”

Since that time, I have both purposefully and inadvertently been landing on those Keepers, Leapers and Deepers. And, I have been writing and sharing much on LinkedIn…. and, of late on Character, Congruence and COOLness… all helping me expectedly and not… with same.

That said, COOLness is Strength and Composure and Certitude and Patience and more. It is Stoic and more. It is grounded in ever finding and accepting and acting on those moments of knowing.

All of that is to say that the crossroads have been attended and decided upon.

Just this past Week, I found myself in no less than three conversations where I had moments of “knowing”. I have no doubt you have had your own such moments in life; those times where we experience or do or say something and we just know we are on Soulful target. That happened… moments of saying something that just reverberated within. Moments of doing something that just felt right. You know what I mean. Clarity in the moment; evident and unquestionable. That happened no less than three times this Week, unexpectedly, unplanned and unambiguous.

For me, the secret sauce to these moments and those I have had before is Candor; with others and ourselves.

I invite you to reflect on the Card of Candor; kindly open, assertive and confident with ourselves and others. Honest. With high emotional intelligence in practice. It feels and expresses nobly. Purposefully.

We say what we mean and mean what we say. We say what we need to say… and to ourselves.

My simple thought to you today is what would Candor look like for you right now. What needs that courageous Honesty?

Over this month, I am exploring COOLness on LinkedIn and I invite you to explore with me. Candor will be part of that.

Either way, our lives are both short and important… and to live them most joyfully and purposefully, Candor around what matters to us most … MATTERS most. It advances our capacity to follow our own Cool Change. It enjoins us to dance our own ground. Practice Candor with yourself. It is your choice but wouldn’t you rather?

“Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness. People are just people, and all people have faults and shortcomings, but all of us are born with a basic goodness. ― Anne Frank
