Earlier this week, on LINKEDIN, we shared this post on Character Everyday.  I invite you to have a read.

Tomorrow, September 22 2016, is Character Day, and we will indeed be running an AFTER School on Facebook Live at 7:30 pm EST (@ Barry Lewis Green or @ Epic Engage on Facebook) where we will explore 5 strategies for advancing strength of character and leadership at school, work and community.  This weekend, I share more still and live at the NL wellness Expo 2016.  I speak to all of that here.

That all being said and shared, I offer this as a thought.  Consider the virtues. Identify your true aaeaaqaaaaaaaaf0aaaajdayyzhiymexltq1njatndcyzi05zjblltdkn2fhotiwndmyzastrengths of character; the strengths that seem to be hard wired for you… natural for you.  Then, consider which strengths of character you most need to truly work on in order to best support your goals and plans.  Develop a simple learning plan for developing them.  Knowing your strengths is powerful.  Shoring up your challenges of character can save the day.

Here are some simple suggestions:

  • Identify the strengths of character that you most need grow and develop.
  • Identify 3-5 consistent actions or projects that will advance same for you, in real time and real world.
  • Establish a self assessment on a 1-10 scale to honestly measure your progression.  Ask yourself daily, “Where am I on that strength right now”. Do it daily and do it honestly.
  • Resolve to keep pushing the needle.

So, as we enter Character Day tomorrow, resolve yourself to identify your most strategically needed virtues for growth and development and get clear on a plan for doing so.  The ROI for your leadership will be noteworthy.

Peace, passion and prosperity.
