With my 6.2 birthday passed, Ayyam-i-Ha engaged, and the Fast approaching, re-centering is definitely underway. Stepping effectively forward often best and most requires stepping to the side to ascertain path. In Your Life is Your Country… I shared
As LP Jacks said, “A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.” For me, “mastery” is found in “studentry” and my studentry at home, school, work, business and community… is humans together strong. That is my life and country… my just cause.
Our studentry is that for which we have deep Curiosity and Zeal. I have been writing on Assertiveness… and The Work Needed…. and The WEALTH Thing… and Initiative and Excellence. All of that is to say that, at 62, I am aware that a larger part of my “country” has been explored.
Some places I have been, I seek no more to return. Some, I do. Aspects of that part of my country I find myself in now are sources of Zeal for this boy inside the man. Some, are not. And, there are parts of this country of mine yet to explore. With the world amidst interesting and challenging times, I am sharpening the blades on those sources of Curiosity and Zeal… past, present and promise. I am sharpening the blades on the knowledge, skills, abilities, talents and capacities I intend to return to, keep and add… in Service and Contribution. What that means for me is that Curiosity and Zeal are where I will find my best Service and Contribution. And, it implies some interesting decisions coming.
The Fast is a time of burning away veils and finding an ever deeper clarity. I think this one will be ever more such. The hope and intent is to move forward being and doing, with that Curiosity and Zeal, in such a way that I do what I do. Ever more loving what I do. Ever more doing what I love. Indeed and in deed.
As Roslina Chai once told me, “Curiosity is a gentler form of passion”. I now see it as a gentler form of Zeal. In this world of change and challenge, I intend to best show up, as me. I intend to walk my country… cutting what no longer serves, keeping what does and adding what will advance my capacity to “bring it”. And I intend to Honor the spirit of Panda and my own in doing so… crafting 4 pillars of Curiosity and Zeal, moving forward. Yep, yip, yop, uh-huh… stepping effectively forward often best and most requires stepping to the side to ascertain path. The next few weeks, ahead of Naw Ruz, will be such BIG TIME. Curiosity and Zeal help point us the way to our Soul. Where are your sources of Curiosity and Zeal? Follow them. More to come. Peace. 😉
