Last week, I posted on Promoting Healthy Minds and Wellness. In it, I noted…
“… on Wednesday, February 21 (one day after my 58th birthday and a time I intend to be approaching a 40″ waist), I am excited to say CAPS will be offering a public event at the College of the North Atlantic… and I will be sharing on my own thoughts and perspectives and experience around healthy minds and wellness. The event will be in the L201 Lecture Theater of the Prince Phillip Drive Campus of the College, running 7:00-8:00 pm. More details to follow, but admission is FREE, and you can reserve a seat by emailing here. Ultimately you will walk away with five simple but powerful strategies for advancing healthy minds and wellness; strategies I use personally on my own road.”
As I approach my 58th birthday, 13 days from now, I have been particularly focusing on my own state of mind and body, and I am looking forward to sharing my own hard won and well earned thoughts on same; and I hope you join me. I think I have something to say that will add value and joy.
On top of that, at the Arts and Culture Centre in St. John’s on Friday and Saturday, February 16-17, I will be sharing some short thoughts and insights on matters similar… at an event being held by Enactus CNA; 15 minutes each evening. I am looking forward to all three events. And, I am taking this morning to sharpen the focus and the blades on running up to my birthday.
I intend to be a comfortable 42″ waist by then. I am beginning (this weekend) with a 6 week program called the Beat Barry Challenge, where I will be walking the weekend warrior walks, racking up the steps and seeing who in Krista Walsh’s Fusion Winter Challenge can beat those steps. It will both engage my fierce but friendly sense of competition… and facilitate my own continued journey. It fits for my mind and body; so very much.
Bottom line, I am setting a mini challenge for myself, setting a clear goal of a comfortable 42″ waist by February 20. That is clear and specific. It is important to me because I have so much I want and intend to do, going into my 59th year; powerfully and palpably so. I will measure it by mirror and pants feel. I will consistently work on it, by walking at least 30,000 steps each weekend… at least… and then 15,000 steps each day during the workweek. I will drink water and herbal tea. I will continue to eat responsibly as well.
How about you? Want to set a short term 10-13 day challenge of your own… for health or whatever? What specific goal would it be? Why is it important and relevant? How will you evaluate progress? What consistent actions will you take? What is your time frame (I am suggesting 10-13 days)? I invite you to choose and follow through on a GREAT goal of your own, with me.
Are you with me?
We got this.
Peace, passion and prosperity.
