News and Views is a new initiative for 2017.  On a more random and periodic basis, we will do a short post with some links to read and ponder.  In some ways, it is a catch up.  In other ways, we might bring the mustard; and a little relish.  🙂

This first issue examines the role that character and virtues play in leadership and living.  We call it Heroic Character Leadership.  Character is the highest form of emotional intelligence, and a powerful foundation to leadership… and we start to explore it here.

The HOT Dog™ is our lead piece.  This weekend, we posted this on building strong, diverse and united cultures.  It was inspired by a post on emotions, the internet and the state of the world.  A link to that post is contained therein, as well.  Have a read and see how it might apply to how you lead at home, school, work or community.  We invite you to read and reflect upon how it might be applied to your world, or corner of it.

In support and addition, we also offer this post from the Ivey Business Journal on Developing Leadership Character.  It is a great read on the vital importance of character.  This is not about the warm and fuzzies.  It is real; and it is crucial to thrive in today’s world.

Finally, and as a compendium of sorts, we offer this link to well over 300 LinkedIn posts to date around character and leadership and education… and this link to our EPIC Blog.  You will find hundreds of posts addressing matters of character and leadership pertinent to school, work, business and community.

And we offer this video to review and possibly relish. 🙂

Peace, passion and prosperity.
