Last evening, I was playing around with some character development for my AukWords comic launching this Fall. They are joyful works in progress, and will continue to be.

The impetus for such play last night came from pondering on and writing my last several blogs, including A Better Lens for GrowthYour Cooperative System … and Finding Purpose with Some C4.

I have long been fascinated by notions around Character, Purpose and Unity … our CPU, 😉 … and I believe and contend that they are intrinsically and inherently linked. Indeed, exploring our best character and purpose forges an internal alignment (Unity) that is palpable and powerful, and practical. And, it helps us find our best fit, forging an ever increasing external Unity.

What I Have Found, Thus Far

As I continue my own life long journey exploring same, and given my studentry and experience through the years with What Color is Your Parachute?, Dale Carnegie Training, Personality Dimensions, The Virtues Project, The Ruhi Institute, business education, and my own body of work… and more … I am fully intent on making it that life long journey.

My studentry over 39 years with the work of Richard Bolles speaks to me of the vital importance and power of purpose in our work and life. My 14 years of professional experience as a coach trainer with Dale Carnegie years ago speaks to me of the equally vital importance of skill and capacity for building high functioning Unity. My past 19 years of work with temperament, personality and character with the Virtues Project, Personality Dimensions and the Ruhi Institute speaks to me of the even more fundamental importance of same in grounding ourselves and our alignment, as our very own sense of true Integrity. And, my 26 years now as a business educator speaks to me of how all of this can work together to serve, and solve problems, address gaps, and build a better world.

Indeed, the global goals speak to me as opportunities for commerce and contribution alike… as recipients of our own character, purpose and capacity. As we figure on our best sense of character, purpose and skill, aligning ourselves within with who we see ourselves to be and do, we can better find the places and people and opportunities that most need who we are and what we do. We can explore and discover and realize our best work, play and sense of Service.

Several Thoughts, For Now

All of that is to say that my own studying, practicing, speaking, teaching, coaching, training, facilitating, mentoring, singing, dancing, writing, blogging, vlogging, cartooning, acting, boxing and creating will be continuously and consistently and playfully driven by same. It will have a core focus around this three notions of Character, Purpose and Unity.

That in mind, my thoughts for now are twofold. First, I humbly suggest a read and reflect on the aforementioned posts. Second, and if so interested, stay tuned. There is more on the CPU to come.

Exploring our own Nobility (sense of Character), and our Purposefulness can provide a remarkable and authentic return on investment at home, school, work, business and community… personally and professionally… individually and collectively. If such concepts and the wondering and pondering on purpose, meaning and more are curiosities for you now,

I invite you to ride with me as we explore ideas around Character, Purpose and Unity. It will drive my conversations ever more going forward.

Finding our way and place is a path we all share, whether we realize it or not sometimes. Maybe, we can and should walk it together… and keep renewing our best lease on life.

Every week, right here, we will explore.

Peace, passion and prosperity…
