As essentially noted in that very first offering… The Experience is not simply a newsletter. It’s intent is to serve educators, entrepreneurs and emerging leaders who hold a world embracing vision. It is about offering resources to advance peace, passion and prosperity, locally and globally… at school, work, business and community; and we will be doing so one Friday a month.

Here on our EPIC Blog going forward, and monthly one Friday a month, we offer a business-centric blog post around practical aspects of character and leadership connecting to matters of current interest and impact. Yes, one Friday a month, we will examine matters of business and facets of character leadership important to consider. It will be real and relevant.

The WAYFARER Journal™, 1st Edition

I am a Baha’i. I say that not with any pride or claim to truth. My Faith is my very personal owner manual; with my own personal focus on my own path. I say this as my Faith speaks to me of a journey, not a destination. A favorite quote of mine in the Baha’i Writings speaks of…

O wayfarer in the path of God! Take thou thy portion of the ocean of His grace, and deprive not thyself of the things that lie hidden in its depths.

This says to me that life is a path; and our lessons come in the living and reflecting upon same. There is no instantaneous magic bullet event; IMHO. Faith and Strength and Wisdom are earned, in living… every day. Perfection is not the goal; but perfecting. Indeed, if you want to know more about my own motivation and grounding, I invite you to experience this video. It is not offered to convince or persuade or even influence, but to share the grounding of my own living and working and service… however imperfect it might be.

Why Do I Share?

Why do I share this? I have been working in leadership development for some 30+ years now, mentored by many talented people across Canada, the USA and indeed the world. I have been blessed to meet, connect with and learn from people of diverse wisdom over those years. And with that, I now have:

This is not a boast; but a deep sense of Gratitude. All that being said, I continue to learn. The being of the student is the path to learning, growth and excellence. It is the process of perfecting over perfection. My latest and largest area of learning these days is my personal health; and this is the true subject of this first and next leg of The Wayfarer Journal™.

Getting Down to It

Back on October 15, I offered this on 77 Days and Beyond. Then, on October 18, I shared on GREAT and SLOWER Health. Since then, I have continued to live, reflect and learn. This past week, I got rid of 4 pairs of 46″ waist pants; an act of burning my boats, if you will. I have fortified my home with good food… in taste and sustenance. I have witnessed a slimming, even today.

And all of that is to say that this journey continues… and, starting in November… weekly on Wednesdays… I will be checking in on my journey around the application and practice of character in this area of greatest and most present challenge; my very own health. I do invite you to join me as the lessons learned and shared will be applicable across many areas of life, I humbly expect, suggest and contend.

Certainly, I am no health expert but I am a good student, and I will dare to share any learnings here. Still, Wayfarer will be a continuing journey around the practice of personal and self leadership, grounded in the practice of character strengths. As noted earlier, it will be a personal blog with a personal and professional focus… and I do sincerely invite you to join me.
