Monthly Archives: December 2019

What are We Celebrating?

In our last post, last Wednesday, we posed 5 questions heading into 2020. We recommend the read. I personally went through the questions and came up with…

I referenced it in thoughts on Unity along with many links to thought around character in December. I invite you to engage those reads. But here, this “meme” is ultimately of 5 areas of my life that matter most to me. This is my vision board for 2020. It is a simple and focused grocery list.

As we head into 2020, there will be many “celebrations”. My question is, “Do these celebrations have anything to do with growth and achievement or simply are they about the turning of some clock?”

I prefer the former to the latter. The latter is arbitrary and a sense of the same ol’ same ol’… going through the motions. The former celebrates focus and achievement and even blessings, if you will.

As you celebrate the passing of 2019, reflect upon any growth that happened for you and/or your loved ones. I look upon my 9 milestones set last February and see accomplishment of 7 by December 31; and I will celebrate in my own way.

How about for you? As you leave 2019 behind, what will you celebrate? As you enter 2020, decide upon what will make 2020 a good year for you… and focus on that to which you truly want to bring energy.

Make it real. Make it count. The motions are over-rated.

In the New Year, we return with a series.

Until then, we wish you a Happy New Year.

Steadfast Your Year

In our Last Blog, we suggested that we are taking a break; and we are… until January. But, we will be posting a bit, to share.

As we approach 2020, think about having a read of STEADfast 2020. In so and after doing, ask yourself these five questions.

  • What matters most to me in 2020, personally and professionally?
  • How do I see each of those advancing in 2020?
  • Who will benefit most by their advancement and how?
  • What are 3 things I will do daily to make sure it happens?
  • What virtue matters most in making sure that happens?

2020, or any year, can be a big year. But it does not just happen. Have a listen to some thoughts on being steadfast. Then, reflect and engineer yours as a gift to you, and yours.

As we drive “home” towards Christmas

Last February I wrote my birthday ticket for my next birthday. Last Sunday (two days ago), I wrote this as a long over due follow up.

Last night, I shared this on motivation.

This is the home stretch of 3 months … to reach the milestones set out… the last three months of that journey.

Last week, we shared on A December of Love.

Last Summer was magical. This December holds the promise. 🙂 And, over the last few days, I (Barry) personally have been sharing on a virtue a day in December. You can find all the links here in The “Right” Christmas and Holidays.

All of that is to say that this is the last Benny and Jarry Blog before Christmas and the Holidays.

We are taking a break until the New Year, with probably a Christmas and Holiday Greeting during the height of the Season, so to speak. In the meantime, we invite you to read our last few posts and blogs, and enjoy the Season. You deserve it.

Here is a thought I posted on Facebook today, going out to all concerned…

This goes out to the enduring and resilient ones… those who live their lives in the face of trials and triumphs alike… those who keep walking the walk and sharpening the blades… those who feel the pain, never denying it but always knowing they will find a way. The ones who know that real positivity is not about pretending everything is great… but knowing that they will get to great. This one goes out to the fighters… the spiritual warriors. You have my admiration and deep respect. When the swords flash, go forward…

December is a gift.
