United and True

Last week, I shared on Cultivating Cultures of Care… and I finished with “Building cultures that care and taking care of ourselves are not divergent themes. We set the example, and build the culture in doing so.”

I suggest the read. That said, why?

Unity. It is not just about community, local and global. It is about Unity within. Alignment. Mind, body, spirit, Soul. Loving ourselves and others are not competing forces, nor is it about one before the other. When we care for others, we are often honoring and caring for our own selves. It is reciprocal, so long as their is balance.

Today, I shared on Certitude and owning it. In it, I also shared a video around same. When we own our lives and who we are, we are caring for ourselves, and others. Our Truthfulness helps those looking for us find us and those not… the opportunity to go on in their lives.

Panda understood this. Be true to yourself and others. Own who you are. Be you, authentically bringing your best self to the world. In so doing, we best serve the world.

Love and miss you Pan.

Peace, passion and prosperity…

Truth and Understanding

Last week in T-Time Thoughts, I shared on Thankfulness, Thoughtfulness, Tolerance and Trust. Yesterday in The broadCAST (one great read I might add), I shared on Trustworthiness.

Today is Day 99 of ROCK 105… and for Days 99 through 101 on Thursday, I offer a powerful three…

Today, I shared on Assertiveness on After School Live. How are these connected? Speaking our Truthfulness with quiet Confidence can help forge and build Understanding and Unity.

Amidst these craziest of days personally for me … and these days and times in which we all live, it is ever and increasingly important to walk our walk and talk with a quiet Confidence. The brash and in-your-face meets with other brash and in-your-face. We get strife, conflict, contention and apathy. To get in-your-heart requires speaking our best Truthfulness with Confidence to forge Understanding and Unity. We seek not to impress nor boss. We seek to communicate, speaking and listening.

What would Truthfulness, Understanding and Unity look like for you? Speak and do that with quiet Confidence.

Peace, passion and prosperity…

Audacity, Primed

In 5 to Thrive, I shared on Candor, Daring, Dominion, Soulfulness and Wholeheartedness… and said, “These five I intend to deepen in over the next few weeks and ahead of a new College year. I believe and contend they are Virtues that expect a deeper dive, sacrificing everything else for everything truly desired.” Well, in so doing, I conversed and reflected and crafted on another…

In many ways, it encompasses the earlier 5. For me, on this 5th anniversary of my stroke, I am reminded of the lessons that came that year on living a life closer to the bone. On August 19, 2015 I did not know that which was coming. August 20 of that year, I heard the news. I was dumbfounded. Blessed with few physical challenges, my brain did have work to do, and I did have a year off… and time in CT Scans and MRIs, and thinking upon my life forward. It was both challenge and opportunity, but that is another story. I am reminded this day that there is still work to do.

I have commissioned a new website to ever better reflect that, and I am re-committed to bringing such to my teaching in this my 26th year. I have a 6 month wellness program starting in September, and I am redefining my personal life. That said, today, I am reflecting on this virtue. My thought is, “How can the wind not be the wind?” It cannot. To be our truest requires Courage, Honesty, Truthfulness, Candor, Daring, Dominion, Soulfulness and Wholeheartedness… and Audacity. My stroke reminds me that there is still work to do on building that city. To do that, here are some QUESTIONS upon which I am reflecting.

  • At core, who am I? What matters most to me in living, being and doing this one life I know that I have?
  • How can I fully accept that?
  • How can I be most responsible in living it, and for whom?
  • How can I best express that to the world in countenance and gate?
  • How can I best align my spirit, thought, will and action?
  • What will that all look like in living my life?
  • What matters most in doing any of that?

I am asking myself these today on Day 3 of a 10-Day Challenge…. with today being on Modesty.

Comfortable being who I am relies on me having an ever better sense of who that is, and owning it. 95% needs to advance towards 100%.

I intend to explore these questions.

How about you?
