Accountability, Inside Out

I simply love this space at Cape Spear. Actually, the name Barry means “spear carrier” or marksman, and I have long seen this space as one of my two most wholly and holy grounds in this world. It is where I best find my own prayerful solace and consultation.

For me, this is a time of rest and reflection on what matters most to me now, and going forward. A friend, this past week, noted that we need be careful about what we care about. That truly resonated for me.

In The Brickwork Begins Again, I wrote on Health and WEALTH … and I noted, “For now, I am deconstructing and reconstructing… one brick at a time. Growing up around masonry, I realize that one brick at a time is how you build something new and strong. You do not worry over the 1,000th brick until you get to it. You take care of this brick and move on to the next. I have some initial bricks to address now, in order to build a new foundation for my own next Chapter. The next 4 months, for me, are about building that next Chapter. Each Chapter of my life, I have found such times called out. My body is calling out on behalf of all of me. It is time, again.”

I do suggest the read from last week. That said, I am laying those bricks. And, what speaks to me now is that the dial back needs be even and ever more dialing back.

To that point, I saw this on LinkedIn today, and it reflects a sense going on within. The work outward is best advanced by the work inward. Working on ourselves is our best way to contribute to the world.

What that means for me is that I am indeed, and in deed, dialing back further. I had noted that I would blog maybe twice a week and that will remain… once on LinkedIn and once here, each week… for these next few months. And, I will post some meme and music content daily on both LinkedIn and Facebook. That shall remain. That said, it will be part of an very early morning ritual of 30 minutes a day, leaving the rest of the day to go inward. And what does going inward mean for me? Based on the last blog, with tweaks, it means…

It means as little schedule as possible, without ignoring key responsibilities. But it means being ultimately accountable to me… physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually…

There is a “Hidden Word” in the Baha’i Faith that says, “Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning…”. I intend to live each day thusly. I intend to address the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual in ways too long ignored; daily.

My thought to you is to reflect on Accountability. How can you best apply it to you, within? Read the card, reflect on it… and get clear on what it looks like for you personally, inwardly. Do that.

For now, and these 4 months ahead, I will be blogging on LinkedIn on Monday mornings, and here on Friday mornings… starting next week. I will share the road, being true to my own sense of Character… and I hope that you join me.

Peace, passion and prosperity…

Stop. It Matters.

In The End of Three Eras, I shared that I had been writing on Courage and Fortitude and more… and I noted that, “Today, I got news of the end of another of three personal eras for me. The passing of Panda was one. The re-imagining of my work now underway is another. And today, due in large part to changes due to Pandemic, my 32 years volunteering with the Children’s Miracle Network (and Janeway) Telethons have come to an end.”

Yesterday, I posted RAIN on Your Parade, exploring our “hindrances” in life and 4 steps to dealing with them. I suggest it very much worth the read and reflect. For me, I am taking some time to reflect on same; deeply so. I am taking time for what I referred to in Stand and Deliver… and my own Rest and Reset. I have made some significant decisions over the last few days, arising out of Pandemic, the passing of Panda, and more. In posting on LinkedIn yesterday, I noted…

Inspired by material on what holds us back from path … and on #reflection #Discernment and #Fortitude … At times in our lives, our best turn is inward and still. As someone who has been known for movement continuous, these times of stillness are hard to begin. Inertia works that way. Things in movement, find it hard to stop. But stop, we must. Stopping is not ending. It is not quitting. It is stopping, to get gas or directions or nourishment. We need to stop momentarily, regularly. But then there are times we need to make and take that longer stop… that walk into the wilderness. It has happened for me several times in my life. It is now time again. I will be around, but less and purposeful. My thought this evening… Practice #Caring and #Responsibility with yourself. Practice #Truthfulness with yourself. Practice #Patience … and #Kindness … The world needs you, the real one. Peace.

That is where I will leave it for now. Stop. It is good for you and me.

Have a little faith. And stop. I will, and am.

Peace, passion and prosperity…

Your Invention?

In My Fortress last week, I shared “I am getting there, and have decided, with exams and grades completed and wrap up activities underway, to take these next 2 weeks and do the hard work. Getting a meaningful journal, my prayer book, and some time “away”… and it is time for a rescue, of Soul… and character.”

I am in mid-stream. And ever increasing clarity is resulting. This morning, I wrote on rethinking Charity, and it is burning away a fog that has been experienced for a couple years now, as I have spent considerable time reflecting and imagining on the path for Epic Engage. That path is now actually crystal clear and is about to be manifested on this very website over the coming days.

This evening, I recorded this as a brief reflection on what is more clear for me today. It was, in part, inspired by seeing this piece today from Simon Sinek. All of this is to say that determining your WHY is paramount. It is the source of our best invention.

My invention is about to be unveiled July 1, Canada Day. The boy inside the man cannot wait.

What might be yours?

Think about it.

That is it for me, for now.

I will have much more to share next week.

Peace, passion and prosperity…
